‘From Expertise to Impact: Taking PhD Skills Outside the Academy’, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kutadgu Fırat SAYIN from Saint Mary's University Quebec, Canada, discussed how skills such as analysis, communication, project management, and problem solving gained during the PhD process can be used in the private sector, public sector, NGOs and entrepreneurship. Our PhD students, PhD advisors, research assistants, and faculty members who want to explore alternative career paths, learn how to prepare for this transition, and draw a road map in parallel with the academy or completely independent from the academy attended the conference. At the end of the event, our Dean Serap PALAZ ÇAKIR presented a Certificate of Appreciation to our colleague.
