Our University’s New Main Entrance, “İstiklal Gate,” Officially Opened in a Ceremony

“İstiklal Gate” Opens to Service at Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University

Continuing its efforts with the vision of being a new-generation state university, Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University has implemented another significant investment aimed at enhancing safety and convenience at campus entrances and exits. Reflecting the University’s institutional identity and modern approach to higher education, the new main entrance, named the “İstiklal Gate,” was officially opened in a ceremony.

Designed to ensure that entry and exit procedures on campus are carried out in a safer, faster, and more orderly manner, the İstiklal Gate has begun serving as one of the campus’s key entrance points with its modern architecture and functional design.

The opening ceremony was attended by our Rector, Prof. Dr. İsmail Boz, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Alparslan Serel and Prof. Dr. Ebru Kaya Mutlu, Secretary-General Faruk Küçük, deans, heads of administrative departments, as well as a large number of academic and administrative staff. The ceremony concluded with the official ribbon-cutting ceremony and the opening of the İstiklal Gate for use.

“A Gateway Befitting Our University”

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Boz stated that the İstiklal Gate represents a significant investment befitting the University’s growing and developing structure.

Emphasizing that the new entrance will serve not only an aesthetic and architectural purpose but also play an important role in making vehicle and pedestrian traffic on campus safer and more orderly, Rector Boz noted that the İstiklal Gate will significantly reduce the congestion and disorder previously experienced, particularly at campus entrances and exits.

Contributing to the development of the University’s physical infrastructure, the İstiklal Gate not only enhances campus safety, transportation, and overall organization but also strongly reflects Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University’s vision of being a “new-generation state university.”

The İstiklal Gate, designed to make transportation within the campus safer and more convenient for our students, academic and administrative staff, and all members of the University community, has become one of the important steps in the University’s ongoing journey of modernization and development.
